A large group of supporters gathered in the gardens of the Music Academy of the West to pay tribute to The Cecilia Fund October 1, 2016 for the third annual Affaire of the Heart. Guests enjoyed a taste of Morocco with wines, delicious hors d’oeuvres, live music, belly dancing, and more!
As the oldest nonprofit in Santa Barbara County, the event raised several thousand dollars to provide financial assistance for unmet dental and medical expenses for the community’s most vulnerable members.
Cecilia Fund co-presidents Marion Schoneberger (right above) and Susan Johnson (left above) were thrilled with the turnout and the generosity of all the donors. “As our third annual event, it was a real success,” they said. “We are so happy we’ll be able to continue to work closely with our community partners meeting the needs of our fellow citizens.”
Guests were moved by Emilee Garfield‘s very personal story of her battle with cancer and the much-needed support she received from the Cecilia Fund.
